Level 5 Leadership

What is level 5 Leadership according to me? Level 5, is that the middle the end or just the beginning of the levels? Why the number 5 why not 10 or 100 or another number? Level 5 according to the text was suppose to be the highest level and to me that could mean a lot of things. Since it is the highest then the leaders that they were looking at should be amazing, they shouldn't need to go to others for help, but everyone needs help every now and then.So to be a Level 5 leader does that mean you have to know everything and be perfect at anything that you do? Why is it that we judge people on numbers and scales when supposedly we can't tell someone what a leader is but who leaders are. So can you become a Level 5 leader or are you just a Level 4.95 leader?

  1. I hadn't thought about how the ranked managers according the numbers. I bet they chose the number 5, as in five stars. A manager that is willing to put their all into their daily work, motiviate their employees and have a true concern for their organization in my opinion is a Level 5 leader. I hope that one day people will view me in the same aspect. Although I am not an outgoing individual, I always do my best to get my work done effectively and efficiently.

  2. To be a level 5 leader you do need to be intelligent and really good at what you do. With that said I don't think you really need to be perfect. If you do have a question somewhere about something I don't think you should look at it as a weakness because you'd be a better leader if you ask a question and get a great result rather then if you just acted like you knew what you were doing and got a negative result. A person that can get their employees excited about coming to work and get them to respond to them as well as someone who puts their organization ahead of personal gain is someone that I would consider a level 5 leader. Not a whole lot of people can do all of these things but this is something that I can someday do so that people will look at me as a great example of a leader.
