Who are you? Jamie or Matt?

When reading the article, could you picture yourself as the outgoing type of person or the quite leader who thinks they know everything. To me, I feel that I might have a little of both of them in me. I like to go have fun when trying new things out but I also like to make sure that things are the way they were planned out to be. There are times where I need others to help me but there are other times that I know I am right and would rather not listen to what others are saying. I want to say that I am a little of both, but does that mean we all have a little of everything in us and we just need to dig a little deeper to make sure that we can show others and get over the fear of embarrassment. So, who do you feel you are more like?

  1. I think analyzing yourself and comparing your leadership traits to that of the subjects of the article was a brilliant idea. It seemed that in the article that the subjects were to the far left and far right of the personality scale. I think someone who can find that balance, or way to use their affability when required and also be the listener in the "leader and follower" relationship when required, in their own personality scale that will prevail as a superior leader. With that being said, I would like to claim the part of Jaime in terms of my affability and constant assumptions that I'm the only one with ideas that are valid. Seeing things from this angle now, I know that finding equilibrium in these traits is going to be a contributing factor toward my success as a leader in the future.

  2. I like that you analyzed yourself, and made comparisons with the characters involved in the case. I too would say that I am a little of Jamie, and a little of Michael. I think that the case tried to show the extremes of each type of personality. However, I think that typically, in the business world you have a littel bit of Jamie and a little bit of Michael inside of everyone, with the few exceptions when you have the person that is completely Jamie, or completely Michael. I think that having the ability to analyze yourself to determine who you are says a lot about yourself, and it can help you to become a successful leader in the future.

  3. After reading this article and thinking about it I feel that I am more like Michael. I am more of the quiet leader type and I don't really put myself way out there a lot. I tend to just keep to myself and am better suited to just lead quielty and get my employees to do their jobs and enjoy working for me. Jamie seems to lead more out in the open and is really outgoing. While I don't see myself as out there as she is I would really like to become a little more outgoing because I think that would help me even more as a leader in the future because it would help me to excite employees about work.
